What Home Juicer Do I Recommend?
This might be the question I get asked more than any other. Someone falls in love with fresh juice, decides they want to start making it at home, and then stares down a wall of machines that range from $50 to over $700, all promising the world. So let me save you the rabbit hole and tell you exactly what I'd buy.
First, one rule that matters more than the brand: get a cold-press (slow) juicer, not a centrifugal one. Centrifugal juicers spin at high speed and generate heat, which oxidizes the juice and strips away some of the good stuff. A slow juicer gently presses the produce at low RPM, so you get more juice per pound, a longer-lasting bottle, and more of the nutrients you're paying for in the first place. It's the same reason our juice is cold-pressed and never HPP.
Here are my two picks.
Nama J2
- Hands-free hopper: load your whole recipe, walk away, and come back to fresh juice
- Slow ~50 RPM press that keeps the juice cool and the nutrients intact
- High yield with dry pulp, so you waste less produce over time
- Quick cleanup, usually just a couple of minutes under the tap
- 15-year motor warranty and a 30-day satisfaction guarantee
If you juice every single day like I do, the self-feeding hopper is the feature that keeps you actually doing it. You're not standing there pushing produce in one piece at a time. There's also a sorbet attachment and a larger hopper if you want to batch.
Kuvings REVO830
- An Auto-Cut Chute made specifically for long, fibrous produce like celery and carrots
- A 3.5-inch wide flip-gate chute that swallows whole apples, beets, and cucumbers
- Quiet 240W motor with the same low-speed, no-heat cold-press action
- Comes with smoothie and sorbet strainers, so it does more than juice
- 15-year warranty, like the whole Kuvings lineup
If celery juice is your thing (and if you follow us, you know it's ours), this is the machine built for it. That auto-cut chute chops long celery stalks down as it feeds, so you're not pre-cutting everything. If the REVO830 is more than you need, the Kuvings EVO820 at around $600 is the excellent step-down, and the hands-free AUTO10 is the one to look at if you juice in big batches.
On a budget? Solid picks from Amazon
You don't have to spend $600 to start. These cost a fraction of the premium machines, and the important part is that they're all true cold-press (slow masticating) juicers, not centrifugal ones, so you still get the nutrient-friendly, low-heat press. You give up some yield, build quality, and the walk-away hopper, but for testing the waters they're a genuinely good start.
Ninja NeverClog Cold Press Juicer (JC151)
- A trusted name at a fraction of premium pricing
- Designed to resist clogging, which is the usual budget-juicer headache
- Pulp control and simple one-touch programs
- Dishwasher-safe parts for fast cleanup
A great "am I really going to stick with this?" starter that you won't outgrow too quickly.
Omega Cold Press Hands-Free Juicer
- A wide-mouth hopper so you can load and step away, rare at this price
- Low-speed auger for a fresher juice that keeps up to about 72 hours
- BPA-free parts that separate for easy cleaning
- Compact enough to live on the counter
If the Nama's walk-away feature is what you want but the price isn't, this is the closest budget stand-in.
AMZCHEF Wide-Mouth Cold Press Juicer
- A wide feed chute so you pre-cut less produce
- 3-in-1: juice, nut milk, and sorbet
- Consistently one of Amazon's best-selling budget cold-press models
- High yield with a low-RPM slow press
A popular pick if you want the most features for the least money.
A few honest tips before you buy
Cleaning is the make-or-break. The best juicer is the one you'll actually use, and the fastest way to quit is a machine that's a pain to wash. Both of these rinse easily, which is a big reason they made the list.
Watch the warranty. A real cold-press juicer is an investment, so a long motor warranty (both of these are 15 years) tells you the company stands behind it.
Prices move. The numbers above are what I'm seeing right now, but both brands run sales and payment plans often, so check current pricing before you buy.
Don't want to juice it yourself? That's what we're here for.
Buying a juicer is a real commitment, and not everyone has the time. If you'd rather skip the shopping, prepping, and cleanup, we've already done it for you, fresh and cold-pressed every single day.
